Photo journal of the build process of a modified Buell

CrossBreed Morph

In the following pages Allen Bros Chopper Works will be building a radical pro-street custom. We will design and build the complete bike including the frame.

The idea is to build a custom chopper that almost anyone can afford.
A "poor mans radical custom", if you will. This frame will be called the CrossBreed, since we are combining our RigidMorph and RolledMorph into a new animal. We'll use the radical flat plate downrails, from the rigid, and the suspension and rubber mounting from the RolledMorph. This frame is being built for a customer, Ol' Dave, out in Michigan. He will provide pics of the bike build in progress.

The CrossBreed frame can be purchased by custom builders interested in this sort of project, or we can be contracted to build a similar bike to completion.

Ok, this is Ol' Daves doner bike. A 2000 Buell M2 Cyclone (similar to this one). This sport bike has eveything he'll need to build a badd-ass pro-street chopper. It has a 103 HP Thunderstorm engine (which is a hopped up Harley 1200 Sportster Evolution engine). He'll also be cannibalizing the front end, wheels and brakes, instuments and controls, etc...

To get this project off the ground, we'll need a good drawing with all dimensions and materials list. This is the basic concept drawing of theCrossBreed frame we'll be using. It's a suspended 43 degree rake, rubber mounted chassis. It'll be built with .120 wall DOM tubing, 1.25" in the frame rails and seat rails, and 1.75" in the backbone. We'll use our flat plat "downRails" for down tubes, similar to the rigid frame.

Well, we really got jammin' on this one, and didn't get a lot of pics of the build in process. The swingarm plates, like those on the Rolled Morph, are the 1st thing in the jig. They have to be checked for perfect match, and aligned exactly straight. We stetched the seat area with our 2" swingarm spacer block, for a more comfortable ride (and better look!)

The neck post is the next thing in the jig, and then the DownRails and back bone are fitted. We use an actual Buell 1203 engine in the jig for a perfect fit.

The drop-seat posts are then bent, coped and fitted...

The lower frame rails are then built and fit into place...

We also cross-tie the downrail, for added strength.

Had to put the Falcoln logo some place, right?!
